Subjects We Offer
These classes are designed to develop major motor skills through tap and ballet. The program refines coordination, rhythm, and personality projection through beginning ballet and tap technique in a song/dance format with imagination exercises, games, instruments and an emphasis on fun. Our youngest dancers develop life skills like following directions, self control and taking turns.
PRESCHOOL 1 - Ages 2-4
One class per week with one recital routine

One class per week with two recital routines
DANCE WITH ME - Ages 14 months to 3 (+ an adult)
One class per week - no recital. *Each dancer is accompanied in class by their grown-up.
Preschool
Ages 5-7 Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Hiphop
Ballet/Tap 5-7
Focuses on an expanded dance vocabulary and stretch benefits in ballet, while the degree of difficulty in tap steps and combinations is increased. Utilizes the song/dance format.
One class per week with two recital routines
Jazz 5-7
Basic jazz technique is studied through simple conditioning, turns, jumps, progressions and combinations - all taught to age appropriate music in an upbeat, high-energy atmosphere.

Hiphop 5-7
Introduction to street style jazz with an urban feel. Basic hip hop movement and grooves are taught in a supportive, vibrant environment to age-appropriate hip hop and funk music.

Training incorporates all elements of classical ballet: terminology, positions, steps, movement, choreography, discipline and basic ballet history. Barre and floor work are utilized to help develop strength, flexibility, and a strong dance foundation. As students progress through our five levels of ballet training, concepts, skills, and vocabulary will increase in difficulty and depth, while proficiency and artistry will blossom.
Ballet Levels 1 & 2 (Ages 7-11)

Ballet/Pointe Level 4-5 (Ages 12+) Three possible classes per week, must choose at least 2 with one recital routine
Designed for the intermediate-advanced ballet dancer. Pointe students must be recommended by the teacher, but pointe work is not required at any level.
Ballet
Beginner to advanced tap training. Tap vocabulary increases and combinations become more complex with each class level. Tap styles range from Broadway to "Buck & Wing" to Rhythm Tap.
Tap Levels 1-5 (Ages 7+)

Tap
Five levels of twice/week jazz classes. The first class of the week features a full standing warm-up, while the second class includes a traveling warm-up through progressions. Both days include conditioning, isolations, floor work, turns, jumps, combinations and choreography. Technique, form, line and style are explored in depth, and performance technique is emphasized at all levels.

Jazz
Lyrical training pulls from the foundations of ballet and jazz technique but heavily emphasizes the storytelling and emotional components of dance. Lyrical technique concentrates on extension, expressiveness, texture of movement, fluidity, and musicality. Classical lyrical, modern, and contemporary styles are explored. Training also focuses on improvisation to develop individual movement styles, creative growth, and artistry.

A dynamic, hard-hitting fusion of street-dance styles with an urban feel. Hip hop technique focuses on beats, grooves, isolations, and down-into-the-floor movement. Training involves conditioning warmups, progressions, combinations, choreography and freestyle. All classes are taught to age-appropriate music in a supportive, high-energy atmosphere.
Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced (Ages 7+)
One class per week with one recital routine
Hiphop
Adult classes are periodically offered (usually in 6-week sessions) in subjects such as Hip Hop, Tap, Yoga and more. Appropriate for beginners as well as those who grew up dancing and need it back in their lives. Check with the Dance Concept office to see if any Adult Classes are currently scheduled.
Adult (18+)
