DCCT at a Glance
Dance Concept’s Competition Team is an award-winning team with more than 60 dancers participating each year. DCCT is home to hundreds of dancers and alumni, many of whom have gone on to pursue careers throughout the entertainment industry.
Our dancers train with Dance Concept faculty and learn from renowned industry guest choreographers, including guest choreographers, including Aaron Adams, Derrick Schrader, Meghan Sanett, Jared Baker, Jennifer Hatzes, Berkleigh Davis, Madeline Massingill, and more.
Each year, DCCT dancers compete at local competitions, as well as attend a convention during the January—March competition season. We begin each season with our annual “Launch Party,” where dancers build connections with their teammates and discover their “Big/Little” for the season. We then kick off our performance season with our annual “Preview Show,” giving dancers the opportunity to perform their competition routines onstage for friends and family and showcase the hard work they have put in throughout the rehearsal process.

Bella Rugema
Hi! My name is Bella Rugema, and I am your 2026-2027 Dance Concept Competition Team (DCCT) Captain! I have been at Dance Concept since I was three years old. Dance Concept is an incredible place to be and grow as a dancer and as a human being. Throughout my years, I have done hip hop, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and ballet, but currently I do jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and ballet, which I also do at my school. My competition journey began in the 2022-2023 season, which is one of the best decisions I have ever made. All the early mornings and late rehearsals are so incredibly worth it because of the satisfaction of hard work paying off and, most importantly, the people and our team. To DCCT, I am so honored to be your captain this year. I feel so inspired by every single one of you. Your drive. Your passion. Your grit. Your talent. Your joy. I can’t wait for this year together. Travel Team
The Dance Concept Travel Team is an elite extension of the Dance Concept Competition Team, designed for dancers who are seeking additional training, performance opportunities, and industry experience. Travel Team members are encouraged to spend select weekends traveling to conventions across the country, where they receive intensive training from leading industry professionals, build valuable connections, and compete with their Travel Team pieces.
These dancers are dedicated to pursuing excellence and aspire to professional careers in the dance and entertainment industry. The Travel Team provides an additional level of training and exposure for dancers ready to challenge themselves at an elite level.
Travel Team dancers audition alongside the DCCT but audition in a separate group. In addition to the audition, dancers are required to participate in an in-person interview as part of the Travel Team placement process.
